Dr. Abdulai graduated from the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST),
with a Ph.D. in Information and Telecommunications Technology. He received his Masters in Computer Science and Bachelor Degree  in Mathematics/Physics from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology and the University of Cape Coast, Ghana, respectively. His research interests are:

Dr. Abdulai is known to have contributed immensely to the deployment of Information Technology in many organisations in Ghana, particularly the financial sector. As the Vice President of Internet Society Ghana Chapter he collaborated with the International Institute for Communication and Development (IICD) to organise the first National ICT Round-Table Discussion in Ghana. This culminated in the initiation of five ICT related projects in:

  • Agriculture        -         An E-Commerce for Non-Traditional Exports Website, 
  • Education           -         A Training Centre for Information and Communication Technology,
  • Environment   -         An Environmental Information Network, 
  • Health                    -        An ICT Policy for the Health Sector and subsequently, 
  • GINKS                    -         An Information Network for Knowledge Sharing.

Dr. Abdulai has served on a number of ICT committees and boards in Ghana; notable among them being the National ICT Policy and Planning Committee and the National Communications Authority (NCA) Board. Professionally, he is affiliated to the Computer Society of the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineering (IEEE), the Ghana Institute for Information Technology (GIIT) and the Ghana Science Association.
